Rosetta Stone

Rosetta Stone® Online Language Learning over the internet on the Providence Public Library web site. All you need is a library card and then you can access this software from your home.
High speed internet access recommended.

Rosetta Stone® is an immersion program that you do on your home computer. It allows you to learn a new language as you learned English between the ages of 0 and 5 -- by listening, by seeing, by repetition. You do not listen to CD's in the car;  there is no book;  there is no memorization of tables; there isn't even any English. You will learn vocabulary and grammar effortlessly without translating.

I purchased Rosetta Stone® for $450. Within 6 months of using it for only 10 minutes a day, my comprehension shot up astronomically and I could carry on simple conversations.  I have a shelf full of books; I've attended classes; I've almost crashed my car listening to tapes.  It is the best investment that I have made in language acquisition.  Nothing worked as well for me as Rosetta Stone®.  Now it's available to you for free on the Providence Public Library web site.
